AAGIM Graduate Program - February 2022

Applications are open for the February 2022 intake of the AAGIM Graduate Program

AAGIM is a leading private account and direct investment management firm focused on the Australian farmland sector. AAGIM manages assets in commodity areas such as sheep for meat and wool, dairy, cropping, and permanent plantings.

AAGIM is pleased to announce the establishment of our Agriculture Graduate Program (AGP) that aims to develop post-graduate students into future leaders on farm or in the corporate agriculture sector.  We are now welcoming applications from candidates who are soon to graduate to apply for the AAGIM Agriculture Graduate Program starting in February 2022, with a second intake to proceed in July 2022.

The AGP offers a well-structured program which allows graduates to experience three hands-on four-month placements on sheep, dairy, cropping or permanent planting properties, plus a four-month rotation at our Melbourne head office.  At the completion of the program, graduates will have had exposure to multiple agricultural industries and farming systems in addition to administration, business, finance, and analytical functions that enable these corporate Agri- businesses to operate.

Graduates will rotate between AAGIM managed dairies, broad acre cropping, permanent planting or sheep enterprises throughout Australia.  Graduates must be willing to relocate and be flexible with regard to locational preferences.

Graduates will have a structured-on farm rotational program that will allow them to gain full access to how the mechanics of the business work and operates.  They will also be required to work closely with Farm Managers and report on each rotation to Senior AAGIM Management.

Graduates will get the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects as well as significantly contribute to the day to day functions of each farm or business developments.

At the AAGIM head office, participants in the AGP will learn the role of an AAGIM Analyst, working with two Asset Managers and engaging with the CFO and CEO.  To complement this, all graduates will be assigned a mentor as well as receiving on the job training and/or focussed training of their choice to help develop their career.

Each rotation of the AGP is a paid position, including an accommodation and travelling allowance.  Travel to AAGIM head office during the AGP is also paid.

Whilst the AGP does not guarantee a permanent position either in a Farm Management or AAGIM Head Office role,  it provides the Graduate with every opportunity to achieve that – as well as unparalled access to a range of management experiences and a significant nation wide network of agri-professionals.

To qualify for selection for an AGP position you must be in your final year of

tertiary studies or higher at an accredited University or Agricultural College. We encourage

graduates to apply who are studying the following qualifications:

  • Agriculture Science
  • Agribusiness ·Agronomy / Soil science
  • Commerce / Business with and Agriculture background or interest
  • Farm management
  • Veterinary Science

All applicants are to meet government residency requirements and will need to hold an Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or an Australian Permanent Residency Visa.
